More Than 100,000 Fireworks Were Recalled

Homeowners planning backyard fireworks for July 4 may want to check product names and model numbers before lighting anything.

More than 100,000 fireworks sold nationwide have been recalled because of explosion and burn hazards, according to WAFB.

The recalls involve two Winco Fireworks International products announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on July 2.

For families with fireworks already stored in a garage, trunk, shed, or outdoor setup area, the safest step is to identify the recalled products before anyone uses them.

One Recall Involves Roman Candles

The first recalled product is the Roman Candles 8 Shot 3-Pack Firework Devices, model number RCLR-W8012. CPSC said the recalled Roman candles can malfunction, with shots blowing out the side of the tube. About 13,500 units are included in the recall.

The second recalled product is the Unity 7 Shot 200 Gram Aerial Cake Firework Devices, model number MEF6096. CPSC said those devices can tip over during use, creating a serious risk of injury. About 87,120 units are included in that recall.

Both Products Were Sold Nationwide

The Roman candles were sold at Pyro City stores and various fireworks stores nationwide from April 2026 through June 2026 for about $17 to $19.

The Unity aerial cake fireworks were sold at Pyro City stores and other independent fireworks stores nationwide from January 2026 through May 2026 for about $6 to $8. The recalled Unity devices have date codes between 03.16.2026 and 05.18.2026 under the barcode on the back of the package.

Consumers Should Not Use Them

No incidents or injuries had been reported at the time of the recalls.

Consumers should stop using the recalled fireworks immediately and return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund. Anyone preparing for July 4 should separate recalled devices from the rest of the fireworks supply before guests, children, or neighbors begin handling them.
