‘Addams Family’-Inspired Chicken Coop Is the Perfect Way To Get Into the Halloween Spirit

‘Addams Family’-Inspired Chicken Coop Is the Perfect Way To Get Into the Halloween Spirit

“They’re creepy, and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky, they’re all together ooky…” and now they’re apparently the perfect setting for your chicken coop(y).

A woman on Facebook is going viral after sharing her Addams Family-inspired chicken coop. In the photo @addieaae shared online, she showed off a stunning recreation of the family’s iconic mansion. While the coop itself still seems to be under construction, there’s no doubt that it will be ready to shine once October rolls around.

People online can’t get enough of the spooky coop, and they have been sharing their own suggestions about how she can improve upon the design, or else things she can add to complete the look.

Honestly, I can’t imagine anything that could improve upon this awesome project.

The Addams Family Chicken Coop Was Shared in a Halloween Decor Club

Addie shared her photo to the Halloween Decorating Club (Official JPC) page on Aug. 2, 2026. “My Addams Family inspired chicken coop (still working on it),” she captioned the post. “Hopefully she will be completed by September. I can’t wait to decorate it.”

The coop does indeed appear to still be a work in progress, and you can see that some of the roof work on the coop was still wrapped in plastic and hadn’t yet had any of the wood paneling pieces added. Additionally, only part of the building appeared to be painted, and most of the wood was still bare.

But, even with so much still left to do, it’s clear that Addie has made a lot of progress. She made a prior post about her coop back on April 22, 2024, saying then that it was the second time she was attempting the 1993-inspired design. While the 2026 design appears to be a much more advanced version of the 2024 build, it’s clear that she’s very dedicated to getting the look just right for her chickens.

“Tractor Supply has ghost chickens,” one person said of the 2026 design. “You could add around the outside.”

“Does Hensday Addams live there?” another person joked.

Chicken Coops Are Easy to Personalize

Coops are actually the perfect creative medium for many, since they only require a few basic things. According to Bob Vila, most chicken coops only need a few essential materials, including a roosting bar or perch, nesting boxes, a run (the area where they can safely cruise around outside), waterers and feeders, ventilation, and doors for both you and your chickens to get in and out of the coop.

Once you have all of that, you’re free to build your coop to look however you want it, yes, even like the iconic Addams Family home.
