Just about every town has at least one questionable feature that makes you wonder what the people in charge were thinking when they planned the layout. For one woman, the unfortunate design flaw has to be the hard-to-navigate corner that is just outside her property.
Instagrammer Jessica Davis, who goes by the Instagram handle @jessicadavislansingogs, has affectionately dubbed the spot the “Stupids Corner,” and she’s been documenting the way vehicles successfully (and not-so-successfully) navigate the turn on her Instagram and Facebook accounts for her followers.
Most people seem to find the antics these drivers get up to just as hilarious as she does, and her videos have even started going viral as people scratch their heads along with her and wonder why the town of Lansing, West Virginia would put such a crazy hairpin turn on the road in the first place.
Fortunately, it seems like Davis and her followers are more entertained than annoyed by the corner… though we can’t say the same for local drivers.

The Tight Turn Has Caused Issues for Travelers
In one video, Davis captured a series of cars trying to navigate the corner at the same time, including an RV that appeared to be towing an SUV. Unfortunately for the RV driver, another car decided not to wait as the RV drove back and forth trying to make a wide enough turn to navigate the hairpin turn, and the pair of vehicles narrowly missed one another.
The whole incident was caught on camera, and people cheered for the drivers. “You need to sell tickets,” one person posted on the video.
Meanwhile, another person said that they’d like to have a “couple of beers and a chair with some betting” while watching the show.

The Corner Seems Even Harder to Navigate at Night
It’s not just the daylight hours that trip people up with this turn. Davis posted one video that used night vision to capture what appeared to be a pickup truck. Instead of giving the corner a wide berth and making the turn in one shot, the driver opted to go past the turn, then back up and approach it again, nearly bottoming out as they went.
“I do not know what it’s like to drive that corner, but why does everyone take it so tight,” one person asked. “It looks like there is plenty of room to make this turn from your angle.”
Yet another person commented on the sound the truck made as the undercarriage hit the road, writing, “That grinding sound!”

Sometimes People Get Hurt at Stupids Corner
A lot of the videos are good for a laugh (if only because someone else is behind the wheel), but some highlight the dangers of the turn. In one video, a person on a motorcycle can be seen struggling to navigate the turn before stopping on the steeper part of the road.
However, before they could figure out their next move, their bike toppled over on top of them, pinning them for a few moments before they could get enough leverage to get out from under it.
“Poor guy! Hope his leg was not crushed or broken,” a concerned commenter wrote.
It’s clear Davis posts about this corner because it’s across from her house and she’s spent so much time witnessing people struggle with the turn firsthand, but she may also unintentionally be delivering the best possible public service announcement for anyone who has to travel through this area. The message? Avoid Stupids Corner unless you want to scrape up the bottom of your vehicle and perhaps become an overnight internet sensation!
