Universal Is Charging Halloween Horror Nights Guests Extra to Ride Its Newest Coaster
If you’re heading to Universal Studios Hollywood for Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) this year and want to use your park time to ride the theme park’s newest coaster, you’ll have to pay extra.
Theme Park Insider reported that Universal Studios Hollywood added a $19.95 Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift access ticket for Halloween Horror Nights guests. This covers one ride on the newest coaster, and guests can only access it between 7 and 10 p.m.
A ticket to the special HHN event is still required. Regular admission without the extra fee will not include access to Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift during the event.
However, if you pay extra for Universal’s official R.I.P. Tour, the tour package includes same-day, limited access to Hollywood Drift.
The Hollywood Drift Coaster Is Brand New

Universal officially opened Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift on September 16, 2026. It is being called Universal Studios Hollywood’s first outdoor, high-speed roller coaster and the fastest roller coaster in the Universal Destinations & Experiences portfolio.
The coaster reaches up to 72 mph, runs along 4,100 feet of track, and delivers up to 3.6 Gs. It also includes four launches and individual ride vehicles that rotate 360 degrees to create a drifting sensation.
The Ride Vehicles Are Modeled After ‘Fast & Furious’ Cars
The ride vehicles are modeled after a Dodge Charger, Mazda RX-7, Nissan Skyline GT-R and Toyota Supra from the Fast & Furious franchise.
The ride also features several big coaster elements, including an inverted dive loop, twisted pretzel loop and inverted stall. Riders will also get views of the San Fernando Valley, the Universal Studios lot and other parts of the theme park during the ride.
You’ll Have to Put Your Phone Away
Universal has some strict rules before guests can board Hollywood Drift. All loose items, including phones, have to be placed in complimentary lockers inside the queue. Guests also go through metal detection before reaching the ride platform.
Halloween Horror Nights runs on select nights through November 1.
