While the temperatures are still making it feel like summertime on the East Coast, at least one small town in New York is already thinking about Halloween. Echo Fields in Westtown, New York, recently posted about its spooky pumpkin patch.
It’s not ghosts or ghouls haunting the place, but instead some clever pumpkin molds that are turning regular pumpkins into terrifying creatures. The farm posted about its cool collection on Facebook, sharing some of the designs that are ready to go.
While most of these faces are recognizable as Halloween staples (like Chucky from Child’s Play), there are also a few surprising scares to be found in the collection. The clever idea has resonated with people on Facebook, and the pumpkin patch is now going viral.

A New York Pumpkin Patch Is Full of Scary Faces
A farmer named Todd Lyons from Echo Fields showed off the pumpkins on Facebook as he removed the mold to show the faces, according to USA Today. While they were definitely impressive before the plastic was taken off, they were even more astonishing once you could see the full shape each one grew into.
Some of the fun designs included the aforementioned Chucky, Donald Trump, a vampire, Frankenstein, and an ape.

The comments on the video quickly filled up with people wanting to know more about the neat designs. “Where can I get these molds,” one person wrote. “My horticulture students would LOVE this!”
Another person questioned whether this would be good for the pumpkins or not, asking, “Doesn’t this create too much moisture and thus so would rot it before it fills the mold?” Fortunately, the farm was quick to respond, and said that while this is an issue, they work hard to keep it from happening by constantly rotating the pumpkins to try to increase airflow and prevent rot.
