Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck once spent years searching for the perfect home, and in June 2023, it looked like they had finally found their Hollywood castle in the hills. The couple paid about $61 million in cash for a sprawling Beverly Hills estate, a 38,000-square-foot mansion built for privacy, glamour, and a very public happily-ever-after.
That ending never came.
Now, after divorce, price cuts, and multiple trips on and off the market, Lopez has relisted the mansion for just under $50 million. That is an $18 million drop from its original $68 million asking price, turning what was once a romantic real estate dream into one of the most talked-about celebrity home listings in Los Angeles.
A Beverly Hills Dream Bought in Cash
Lopez and Affleck bought the Beverly Hills mansion in 2023 after a long search that reportedly included several failed escrow deals. At the time, the estate seemed to check every box for a power couple trying to build a shared life in private.
The property, tucked high in the prestigious 90210 area, was meant to serve as their shared base during the second act of one of Hollywood’s most-watched romances.
But sometimes, even the grandest home does not fit the life inside it.

Inside the 38,000-Square-Foot Estate
Even with the price cut, the mansion remains a showpiece. The Beverly Hills estate sits on about 5.2 acres in the Beverly Crest area and includes roughly 46,000 square feet under roof, including all structures.
With 38,000 square feet of living space, the mansion offers 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms, along with an indoor sports complex featuring a basketball court, pickleball court, and fully equipped gym. It also includes a guest penthouse, a caretaker’s residence, and ample parking with a 12-car garage and space for up to 80 vehicles.
The property boasts sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and canyon, a zero-edge infinity pool, and beautifully landscaped grounds designed for entertaining. It’s clear that no expense was spared in making this a home fit for royalty.
A Home Inspired by Old-World Grandeur
The mansion’s design has been described as inspired by Marie Antoinette’s Le Petit Trianon, blending European-style grandeur with modern Beverly Hills luxury. That means the home does not simply rely on size. It leans into drama, symmetry, formality, and a sense of old-world polish.
Inside, the estate reportedly includes grand foyers, formal living and dining areas, art-gallery-style corridors, a designer kitchen, home theater, salon, spa areas, and state-of-the-art technology.
It is beautiful, imposing, and highly specific. That may also be part of the challenge. Ultra-personal luxury homes often need a very particular buyer, especially when the price sits near the top of the Los Angeles market.
The Price Started High, Then the Market Pushed Back
After Lopez and Affleck decided to sell, the estate first hit the market at around $68 million. That price reflected its size, location, amenities, and celebrity connection, but even those advantages did not make the sale easy.
The property sat without a buyer, prompting an earlier price cut of about $8 million. Still, the mansion did not move. By July 2025, it had been removed from the market, a sign that the seller’s strategy needed a reset.
Later that year, the estate returned with a lower asking price of roughly $52 million. Even then, the listing did not stick. It was taken off the market again in January 2026, with reports saying Lopez was still living there while renovations continued at her new Hidden Hills residence.
Now, the Beverly Hills mansion has returned once more, this time priced just under $50 million. Compared with the original $68 million listing, that marks an $18 million reduction, a steep adjustment for a property once positioned as one of the most dazzling celebrity compounds in Los Angeles.
Ben Affleck Transferred His Share to Lopez

The sale also entails a major change in ownership. After the divorce, Affleck reportedly transferred his share of the Beverly Hills estate to Lopez as part of a revised property settlement. That means Lopez now holds sole ownership of the mansion and would receive the proceeds from any sale.
If the mansion sells for the current asking price of around $50 million, Lopez would stand to receive roughly $20 million, a significant loss from the $61 million originally paid.
The listing is now being handled by Branden Williams and Rayni Williams of The Beverly Hills Estates, two agents known for working in the rarefied world of ultra-luxury homes in Los Angeles.
Lopez’s New Hidden Hills Chapter

Following her divorce, Jennifer Lopez purchased a more private, secluded estate in Hidden Hills for approximately $17.5 million. The new property, which sits within a guard-gated community, offers Lopez the peace and privacy she sought, away from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles.
Lopez reportedly found the Beverly Hills mansion “too large” for her lifestyle and felt the home’s sheer scale didn’t align with how she wanted to live. On the other hand, Ben Affleck reportedly felt the mansion was “too far” from his children, making it inconvenient for his day-to-day life and co-parenting responsibilities.
After moving out of the Beverly Hills mansion, Affleck settled into a more family-oriented home in Pacific Palisades, closer to his children from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner.
A Castle Waiting for a New Ending
Jennifer Lopez’s Beverly Hills mansion still has the views, scale, privacy, and celebrity history that can make luxury buyers pay attention. Yet the steep price cut shows that even star power cannot guarantee a quick sale at the highest end of the market.
Once imagined as the backdrop for a happily-ever-after, the mansion now stands as a reminder that some dream homes outlast the dreams that bought them.
For Lopez, the sale may be less about losing a castle and more about choosing a home that fits her life now. And for the Beverly Hills estate, the next chapter is still waiting behind the gates.
