Woman’s Pumpkin Flower Centerpiece is Taking Over Facebook, and It’s Surprisingly Easy to Make
Now that fall is officially in full swing, many people are looking for fun and festive ways to get their homes ready for the holidays. While there are lots of ideas out there for DIYers who love a challenge, one woman’s Facebook video shares a simple way to add some autumnal charm to your home.
The account for Jeff & Lauren posted a how-to reel online, showing how Lauren used a pumpkin, floral foam, and fall flowers to create a striking centerpiece.
The result looks like something you might pay a professional to create, but thanks to Lauren’s how-to video, followers were able to see how beginner-friendly this decor idea really is. Most of the supplies are easy to find, although you may need to visit a craft or floral-supply store for the foam.
This chic fall centerpiece can make your autumn tablescape stand out without breaking the bank.
Woman’s DIY Centerpiece Is Going Viral
Lauren’s video is getting noticed, with more than 658,000 likes. It’s easy to see the appeal: The centerpiece looks simple to make.
First, you’ll need to gather your supplies. It looks like that includes a large pumpkin, a floral foam rectangle, a bowl with some water, and a bouquet of fall flowers. After you have your items, you’ll need to press the floral foam onto the pumpkin’s stem, cutting the block down to size so it looks more like a square (Lauren used a knife for this part).
Then, you’ll need to soak your floral foam so that it has enough moisture to keep the flowers alive once you put them into the block. After it’s soaked through, you can start placing your flowers into the foam, arranging them however you think looks best.
Thousands of People Have Fallen in Love With the Craft
More than 7,400 people jumped into the comments to gush over how the centerpiece turned out. “I have two heirloom ones that I’m getting ready to decorate based on all these lovely pumpkin ideas. The creativity is endless,” one person wrote.
Meanwhile, other people posted their own versions of the DIY, showing off their skills. That included one woman who appeared to take a more winter-themed approach, focusing on red and white blooms in her pumpkin centerpiece. “That’s stunning! Do you make one every year,” Lauren responded to the post. The commenter responded, saying this is the first time she’s made the craft.
If you’re going to attempt something like this, make sure you’re getting the timing right. Cut flowers only last about four to seven days when placed in floral foam, according to Flofare, so it’s best to make the arrangement a few days before your event.
