A New South Wales woman is being hailed as a vigilante after she pulled what can only be described as an Uno Reverse on a man who allegedly broke into her property. According to the Daily Mail, Kylee Barbette Robinson found a man inside a shed on her property.
She stands accused of beating the man with a baseball bat before tying him up and ordering him to take her to the other items she said he stole from her. The unnamed man apparently complied, leading her to a camp for the unhoused in a nearby park, where Robinson is said to have attacked two of the man’s accomplices.
The Daily Mail reports that she found the car where the rest of her items were being held after beating the men, and she busted out the windshield with the bat to retrieve her things. Robinson was later arrested as a result of these actions, and remained behind bars as of the time of publication.
This story is understandably getting mixed responses online, with many people siding with Robinson despite her arrest.
A Woman Has Been Arrested After Attacking a Robber
According to the Daily Mail, which reported on the story as an exclusive, Robinson attacked the unnamed 44-year-old intruder she found on her property before chaining him and padlocking him up to get him to take her to the rest of her things that had previously been taken.
Once she found the man’s accomplice, she continued her rampage until police showed up at 8:30 p.m. local time after receiving reports of an assault at Boomerang Park. Paramedics quickly arrived, treating the man for some facial injuries before whisking him away to Maitland Hospital.
As a result, Robinson stands charged with being armed with an intent to commit an offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and kidnapping with intent to cause actual bodily harm.
Robinson’s Partner Has Also Been Charged
On Aug. 10, 2026, the Daily Mail ran a follow-up exclusive about the vigilante, saying that Army veteran Guy Joel Westgate was also charged in the incident. According to the publication, Westgate is Robinson’s partner, and he was accused of being with Robinson when the pair found the original man in the shed.
Westgate is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company and kidnapping with intent, but unlike his partner, Westgate was let out on a $10,000 bail bond.
Both Westgate and Robinson will need to appear in Newcastle Local Court on Sept. 30, 2026.
People Want to See the Pair Walk Free
The story has since gone viral, with many people posting about it on social media. On the Facebook post shared alongside the Daily Mail’s story, more than 11,000 people commented on what happened, mostly falling on the couple’s side.
“Sounds like she saved the taxpayers’ money and recovered her stuff,” one person wrote. “The police wouldn’t have gotten her stuff back.”
“She has the right to defend her property,” another added. “Not guilty of anything.”
In fact, it was hard to find anyone who had anything to say against Robinson and Westgate. Whether that public outcry will have any sway over their case when they finally stand in front of a judge remains to be seen, but for now it’s clear that the people don’t think Robinson did anything wrong and want to see her freed.
