Universal Orlando Just Announced Its 2027 Mardi Gras Dates

We may still be in fall, but Universal is already preparing for Mardi Gras. Universal Orlando has officially announced next year’s Mardi Gras dates. Universal Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval will run from February 6 through March 27, 2027, at Universal Studios Florida.

The event brings a special parade and live music to the park each spring. The park also offers food inspired by New Orleans and other places around the world that celebrate Mardi Gras.

Universal hasn’t announced the concert lineup or food menus yet, but stay tuned as they generally release that information closer to the event.

Mardi Gras is included with a regular Universal Studios Florida ticket or Annual Pass, although passholder blockout dates can apply.

Universal has already confirmed that the Mardi Gras parade will return in 2027. Visitors can expect new floats along with some recognizable classics. For instance, King Gator, one of the most beloved floats, has been part of the parade since 1998.

Universal works with Kern Studios in New Orleans to create its Mardi Gras floats. The company has been making floats and props there since 1947.

In 2025, Universal shared a behind-the-scenes look at Mardi Gras and revealed that its team had already sent Kern Studios its plans for 2026 and 2027.

Fun Concerts And Food Will Return Too

Live concerts will be held on select nights at the Music Plaza Stage. Universal says the lineup will include pop, rock, country, R&B and more, but no specific performers have been announced yet.

Guests can expect sweet, savory and spicy dishes from around the world, although the actual 2027 menu is still under wraps. Keep in mind that food and drinks cost extra.

You Can Throw Beads From A Float

Did you know you can actually be in the parade during your park day? The Mardi Gras Float Ride and Dine Experience is also coming back.

Guests who book it get a three-course meal at a participating Universal Orlando restaurant, and a reserved spot on one of the parade floats. Then they get to throw beads to the crowd.

Universal hasn’t released 2027 prices or dates for that yet. The website currently says to check back for details.
