A stunning new destination near Bangkok invites visitors to release digital butterflies, explore immersive exhibits and choose from more than 100 restaurants and cafés.
Happitat opened on Aug. 21 along Bangna-Trad Road at KM 7. It is located in Bang Kaeo, Bang Phli, Samut Prakan, at the entrance to The Forestias rather than in central Bangkok.
CP AXTRA developed the 200,000-square-meter complex around shopping, dining, learning, wellness and entertainment. Its three main buildings are Bloominas for shopping and services, Wonderwild for families, and the semi-outdoor Festie Town for events, according to Kaohoon International.
The buildings connect to more than 30 rai, or approximately 12 acres, of forest behind the property featuring pocket gardens and other greenery.
Visitors Can Release Digital Butterflies

The Butterfly Trail covers a large indoor screen beside Happitat’s Grand Stairs. Visitors use their own smartphones to transform digital chrysalises into animated butterflies that can appear to land in their hands. No separate app or dedicated equipment is required.
Pixel Artworks adapted the installation with species found in Happitat’s physical butterfly garden, including the lime swallowtail and plain tiger. The experience is free and is scheduled to remain at Happitat under an 18-month license.
More Than 100 Restaurants Offer 3,000 Menu Items
Happitat’s dining lineup includes more than 100 restaurants and cafés serving over 3,000 menu items, according to an official project announcement. The selection ranges from chef-led restaurants and Bib Gourmand eateries to dessert shops and international chains.
Other notable openings include Thailand’s first pet-friendly CHAGEE location, Sostare Gelato’s first shopping-mall branch and the edible-forest-themed Forist Delight. Wonderwild’s Whimsical Market alone includes more than 60 restaurants and cafés, along with characters and a light-and-sound show.
Free Shuttles Connect Happitat to Bangkok’s Trains
Visitors using public transportation can take a complimentary shuttle from Udom Suk BTS station or Si Iam station on the MRT Yellow Line. Several public bus routes also stop near Prince Suvarnabhumi Hospital, followed by a walk to Happitat, according to the opening event’s transportation guide.
