Kentucky Home Robbery Case Goes To Grand Jury After Family Attacked Inside House

A Kentucky armed robbery case involving a family attacked inside their home has been sent to a grand jury.

Ariana Meriwether, 25, of Richmond, is charged with attempted murder, first-degree attempted robbery, first-degree burglary, second-degree assault, and kidnapping with serious physical injury, according to WKYT.

The case moved forward Wednesday after Meriwether turned herself in earlier this month. Police say she and another suspect, identified as 32-year-old Tyler Mack, forced their way into a Richmond home in May.

Adult children were allegedly taken upstairs at gunpoint, victims were beaten, and one person was later shot while trying to get away.

Police Say The Suspects Forced Their Way Inside

According to Richmond Police details reported earlier by WKYT, two people forced their way into the victim’s home.

Meriwether allegedly punched one victim repeatedly, causing severe bruising and swelling to the head and neck. Police said Mack took the victim’s adult children upstairs at gunpoint while demanding money.

WKYT reported that one person was forced into a closet and two other victims were beaten.

One Victim Was Shot While Trying To Flee

Police said one victim convinced the pair that there was money in a car outside.

When the victim got outside and tried to run, Mack allegedly began shooting and struck the victim in the arm, causing a non-life-threatening injury. WKYT reported that the victim was later taken to the hospital.

A Second Suspect Remains Wanted

Mack remains wanted by police on multiple charges, including attempted murder, first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery, kidnapping, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Richmond Police have described Mack as armed and dangerous and asked anyone with information to call Richmond Police dispatch at 859-624-4776 or 911.
