Brand New Disney Believe Cruise Ship Will Put Moana in the Grand Hall and Woody and Buzz on Its Stern

Disney Cruise Line has revealed the principal character designs for Disney Believe, a new Wish-class ship expected to begin sailing in late 2027.

A bronze-cast statue of Moana with her animal friends Pua and Heihei will form the focal point of the Grand Hall. Disney says the new Grand Hall will draw from the optimistic spirit of exploration in the Moana films.

Larger-than-life sculptures of Woody and Buzz Lightyear will appear on the stern. The Toy Story characters will use large yellow crayons to write the ship’s name across the back of the vessel.

Tinker Bell will occupy the bow with silhouettes from Peter Pan. Disney unveiled the designs at D23 on Aug. 15.

Each sister ship uses its Grand Hall to establish a broader theme. Disney Believe will reportedly focus on promise and possibility, with Moana representing confidence, nature and exploration.

Disney describes the room as a South Pacific setting with artisanal Polynesian finishes designed to honor regional cultural traditions. The statue will place Moana beside Pua, her pet pig, and Heihei, a rooster who reached the ocean largely by failing to leave the canoe.

The stern will replace Disney Cruise Line’s usual script

Woody and Buzz will appear to etch “Believe” across the stern. Their version will use block-style Toy Story lettering instead of the looped calligraphy normally placed on Disney Cruise Line ships.

The bow artwork will feature a hand-painted Tinker Bell with silhouettes of Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook and other figures flying through the design.

Meyer Werft is building Disney Believe. It will join sister ships Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.

The first cruises cannot be booked yet

Disney has announced only a late-2027 entry into service. It has not released the exact maiden-voyage date, home port or inaugural itineraries, according to a current guide to the ship.

The cruise line says future venues and entertainment will draw inspiration from Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana and The Little Mermaid. Disney has not yet announced which intellectual properties will be tied to restaurants or shows.

Bookings are not yet open. Disney is directing prospective passengers to the ship’s official page for updates.
