Real Estate Agent Hilariously Tries to Sell a Home That’s ‘So Average It’s Cute’
It’s no secret that the world of real estate is in a strange place right now. With higher-than-normal home prices and high interest rates, a lot of people are having to get creative if they want to buy a home.
That being said, it would seem that real estate agents are getting hit hard by the changing landscape as well, since it’s more challenging to get homebuyers to spend a lot of money on a house that may not be their dream home. That’s likely why Steph Barkley’s Facebook video is going viral as she hilariously spoofs what life is like for real estate agents right now.
In the clip, she walks a prospective buyer through a home she calls “so average it’s cute,” trying to sell them on the place’s most basic features.
It seems like this clip is resonating with more than real estate agents and homebuyers, since everyone thinks her approach to selling a supposedly average property is more than just “okay.”
Real Estate Agent Works Hard to Sell an ‘Average’ Property
The video begins with Barkley using a leaf blower to presumably clean out the home before the homebuyers came in for a tour. Then she immediately launches into a high-energy speech about how everything around the property is “okay.”
The stairs, the windows, even the half-bath get an enthusiastic “okay” from the agent as she tries to get the buyers excited. While some of the features of the house do stand out as more than okay—like the rooftop patio—others definitely seem like things you’d expect to see in the majority of the homes on the market.
People Couldn’t Stop Laughing at the Video
The aggressive “okay” from Barkley was a scene-stealer for many people in the comments who said that they found themselves laughing out loud after watching the clip. “If Sandra Bullock was an agent,” one person wrote along with a crying-laughing emoji.
“[I don’t know] about you guys but she sold me,” another person wrote with several different emojis. “Okay!”
“Hilarious! And the message is spot-on,” another person added.
Barkley said that the property was in Southern California in her video. According to Fox11, prices in Southern California can vary by county, but they appear to range from $508,000 to $1.49 million, depending on where you look. That’s likely why Barkley feels like she has to work overtime to get buyers excited about these houses that could be listed for seven figures despite being mostly “okay” by everyday standards.
