Worried About Missing Your Football Game? United is Adding Live Football to Hundreds of Flights This Season
If you have a flight booked during a football game this fall, you may not have to miss it. United Airlines is adding live professional and college football to hundreds of flights this season.
United announced the new partnership with DISH on Sept. 17. Starting this week, passengers on eligible planes can watch live games right on their seatback screens while in the air.
The service is already available on more than 220 United mainline planes, which can operate up to 700 flights each day. Keep in mind that you will need to be on a plane with Starlink and a seatback screen to watch.
United plans to offer the football broadcasts on domestic flights through the big game in February. By then, the airline expects nearly 700 of its mainline planes to have Starlink.

United will show games airing on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, FS1, ESPN, ESPN2 and NFL Network, so it should be easy to find the game you’re looking for.
Thursday Night Football on Prime Video is included too. DISH is providing the live channels through its OnStream service.
You Can Have Two Games Going at Once
If another game is on at the same time, you can stream that one on your own device to watch both at the same time. United says passengers can watch a game on the seatback screen while using Starlink on a phone, tablet or laptop.
Starlink Wi-Fi is free for MileagePlus members in every cabin. It is already active on more than 560 United mainline and United Express planes.
More Planes Are Getting Starlink
United is still working to add Starlink throughout its fleet. The airline says it expects to finish the installations before the end of 2027.
Seatback screens are being added too. United expects up to 1,000 aircraft to have them by the end of 2027.
