Hersheypark’s Creepy Halloween Performers Are Going Viral, and Fans Are Traveling From Around the World to See Them
People are driving hours to Hersheypark this Halloween just to see a group of performers who slide across the pavement in creepy makeup. Some fans are even buying season passes to watch them perform multiple times.
The group is called the Decayed Brigade, and its members appear during the Pennsylvania amusement park’s Dark Nights Halloween event. Performers known as Fryboy and Archer have become especially popular on TikTok, where videos featuring the crew have gotten millions of views.
The performers are known as haunt sliders because they use special equipment to slide across the ground and surprise unsuspecting guests. They also perform stunts that involve jumping, spinning, and sliding together as a group.
Their popularity has even caught the attention of people overseas. Hersheypark spokesperson Quinn Bryner told Business Insider that people have commented about traveling from Europe and Australia to see them, while others have already purchased season passes because of their videos.

@fryboydb I honestly don’t even know where to begin other than by saying thank you. To everyone who has come out, cheered us on, supported us, thank you. You guys are the reason we get to do what we love, and I don’t take that for granted for a second. Being able to connect with so many of you and see the excitement you bring with you every night has meant more to me and the team than we can really put into words. Thank you to @theahl and the Hershey Bears for having us share such an incredible opportunity again. Coming back this year meant more to me than I can explain. Life has thrown some setbacks my way, and there were times I wasn’t sure what the next chapter would look like. To be standing here again, doing something I love, surrounded by incredible people and supported by all of you, is something I’ll never let go of. I will cherish this chapter forever. I’m so grateful for every one of you. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for sticking around. Much Love, Fry #fryboy #puckdrop #hersheybears ♬ Xerces – Deftones
There are eight members of the Decayed Brigade performing at Hersheypark this year. They wear dark clothing and frightening face paint, but their sliding tricks are what make them different from the park’s other Halloween characters.
The performers use modified knee pads and gloves with metal pieces that allow them to slide across the pavement. Some of their tricks involve jumping over one another, while others send them sliding toward guests at high speeds.
Fryboy has been performing at Hersheypark since Dark Nights began in 2021. He told Business Insider that he first became interested in haunt sliding after seeing performers at Knott’s Scary Farm in California when he was 13.
By the time he was 16, he was working at a haunted attraction in Florida. He later performed at Knott’s Scary Farm before coming to Hersheypark.
Fans Are Waiting in Line to Meet the Performers
The Decayed Brigade’s popularity has brought some visitors to Hersheypark specifically to see the group. Fryboy told Business Insider that people regularly approach him and say they drove eight hours or more to watch him perform.
The attention isn’t limited to Fryboy and Archer, either. Another member of the group said some visitors spend nearly the entire evening in their scare zone watching the performers.
Fans have also been waiting as long as an hour to meet the sliders after their shows. According to Business Insider, Hersheypark’s professional photography service had already taken more than 4,000 pictures for fans during this year’s Halloween season.
Overall Halloween attendance has doubled compared with the period before 2021, she told the publication.
Where to See the Decayed Brigade at Hersheypark
Visitors can find the Decayed Brigade in the Midway of Misery scare zone near Laff Trakk. The performers have their own Slider Showcase each evening, where guests can watch them perform their stunts beneath a glowing red archway.
According to Hersheypark’s official photo guide, the Slider Showcase takes place at 9:45 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 8:45 p.m. on Sundays, weather permitting.
Fans can also meet the performers after the show, take their own pictures with them, and professional photos are available for purchase. Hersheypark Halloween and Dark Nights run on weekends through November 1, 2026. Dark Nights begins at 6 p.m., and admission to all five haunted houses and five scare zones is included with a Hersheypark Halloween ticket.
