Woman asks about pockets on sheets.

A Woman Asks Why Her Sheets Have Pockets and Hilarity Ensues

A woman is going viral on Threads after discovering something unusual about her new sheets. According to a post shared by @thekellyboo.2011, her sheets feature an accessory she’s unfamiliar with: pockets.

“Apologies for the poor photos,” she wrote in the Sept. 30 post. “Why are there pockets on the side of my fitted sheet?” The post quickly went viral, with hundreds of people weighing in on the question in just 24 hours.

While Kelly received plenty of plausible answers to her question, there were almost as many laugh-out-loud answers that kept people coming back for more.

In the end, it looks like she’s decided to use the pocket to hold her TV remote. But that doesn’t mean that she’s discovered the true purpose of the pocket. And based on all the different responses, we may never actually know what it’s really for.

Kelly’s new sheets come with a rather large pocket that appears to be big enough to fit her whole hand inside it, and she shared a few snaps of the sheets to give her followers an idea of what she was talking about. People immediately chimed in with some not-so-serious answers.

“It’s for chicken nuggets,” one person wrote.

“D–n, even beds got better pockets than women’s clothes,” another joked.

“It’s so if your knee or foot hangs off, you still have a layer of protection from the monster,” a third person added.

Some Believe It’s Extra Storage

There were a few more seriously minded responses, including one person who said that it’s for people who can’t see without their glasses. “That’s where you put your glasses so you can find your glasses without wearing them,” they wrote.

Multiple people said it was for storing a TV remote or other more common-sense items, like your cell phone or laptop. However, one person warned against getting too comfortable with the remote idea. “I put my remote in there one time. Then it went for a spin in the washer,” they wrote.

Then there were those who suggested that the pocket was for storing the sheets themselves. “For when you fold the sheet, you push it into the pocket like a Popple,” one person wrote.

While the exact reason for the pocket remains a mystery, it sounds like loads of people (including the original Threads user) have found plenty of valuable uses for it regardless of its purpose.
