Bart Simpson may have made the phrase, “Don’t have a cow” famous on The Simpsons, but it’s clear that this new mama was unfamiliar with the slang. That’s because a tan pug mix rescue dog just gave birth to a cute litter of puppies that look suspiciously bovine in nature.
The story was shared by the Oakdale Tiny Paws Rescue Facebook page on Aug. 6, 2026, which is now caring for the growing family. They posted photos of the dogs online, explaining how they actually took them in from another rescue that didn’t have the capacity to care for the trio at the time.
Now, the puppies and their mama are going viral for their cute appearance and heartwarming story, which will hopefully make it easier for them to all find their new forever homes.
Although, according to the rescue, they may do best in a placement where they can live together since mama really doesn’t want to let these little calves… er, we mean puppies, out of her sight.
The Mom Gave Birth Under a Hot Porch
According to the Facebook post from the rescue, the black and white pattern of the puppy’s coats isn’t the only moo-ving part of this story. “She was under a porch in this hot sun,” a caption accompanying a series of photos of the puppies and their mom read. “There’s no way her and the pups would have survived in this heat.”
The animal rescue site went on to say that the puppies are safe now, and they’ve since been given some very apt names, including mama Millie, Bessie, and Tillie. “Tillie actually has a (T) on her head,” the post explained.
Millie’s Story Quickly Went Viral
The puppies are experiencing their own 15 minutes of fame, and their story has been covered by many local and national news outlets, including WKYT. That has left many people asking for more information about the puppies, including who the mystery dad is.
While the Oakdale Tiny Paws Rescue admits that they have received a DNA kit to test to see what kind of genetics they are dealing with, a comment from the rescue called it “not a priority” as they work to take care of all of the animals entrusted to them.
As for hopeful adopters, the rescue says that right now they’re working on getting Millie comfortable in her new situation. “They’re doing great, but mama has bad separation anxiety,” the Facebook caption read. “We’re spending a lot of time showing her love and attention.”
While it sounds like Millie ended up exactly where she needed to be, so many dogs don’t. According to the ASPCA, approximately 597,000 animals were euthanized by shelters in 2025, highlighting just how important it is to spay and neuter your animals. Hopefully, Millie and the girls end up beating the odds and end up going to a good home where the three of them can stay together.
