A Quiet Family Home Was Invaded at 6 A.M. Now Three Teens Have Been Indicted

Three teenagers have been indicted after a Chandler, Arizona, home invasion that left an elderly man and his adult daughter hospitalized, according to local reports citing prosecutors and investigators.

The break-in happened around 6 a.m. on June 6 near Elliot Road and Arizona Avenue, FOX 10 Phoenix reported. Family members said the two victims have since returned home to recover.

Prosecutors identified the indicted teens as Jesus Sandoval, 19, Jorge Jurado Martinez, 17, and Kevin Tristan, 17. ABC15 reported that Jurado Martinez and Tristan are being charged as adults.

Police said the victims were attacked after the suspects forced their way into the house.

The Case Began With A Rideshare Pickup

Investigators said the incident began with a rideshare pickup near Elliot Road and Arizona Avenue before the suspects forced their way into a nearby home.

Arizona’s Family reported that police say a rideshare driver had been hit with a firearm during an argument shortly before the home invasion.

After the break-in call, officers found two injured residents at the home. The victims were taken to hospitals, and both were expected to survive.

The Family Said The Home Had Always Felt Safe

A family member identified as Melissa told FOX 10 that the family has lived in the same quiet neighborhood since the 1980s.

She said relatives still do not know why the home was targeted. FOX 10 reported that the elderly homeowner was severely beaten and his disabled adult daughter was shot during the attack.

Melissa said the community has supported the victims with donations, meals, and prayers as they recover at home.

Three Additional Men Face Hindering Charges

ABC15 reported that prosecutors also charged Pete Canez, 65, Robert Rosas, 59, and Anthony Rosas, 39, with hindering prosecution.

Authorities accused them of helping two of the suspects try to flee the country.

Sandoval and Jurado Martinez were indicted on multiple felony charges, including armed robbery, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, and first-degree burglary, according to ABC15. Tristan was indicted on dangerous felony counts of first-degree burglary, aggravated robbery, and aggravated assault.
