A Store Filled With Hello Kitty and Anime Characters Just Opened in Canada, Fans Are in Love
A MINISO store in Canada has been completely renovated with new displays for anime characters, collectibles, and other merchandise. It reopened at Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, on October 10.
The store is now called SUPER MINISO, and it’s the first of its kind outside China. The company announced the opening on October 12.
Naruto fans can find the full NARUTO × MINISO collection, which is being released in Canada for the first time. The store also has a new Stitch collection called Hit Snooze, along with other character merchandise.
There are plenty more products coming, including over 100 new Hello Kitty and Friends items. MINISO also has collections featuring Chiikawa, Mofusand, Marvel and Demon Hunter on its upcoming release list.

MINISO went through a full renovation, with separate fixtures designed for different characters and collections. A MINISO Canada employee shared some details about the renovation ahead of the opening. The new setup includes dedicated areas for the character merchandise, but the store still sells clothing, beauty products and other everyday items.
MINISO’s own character, YOYO, was also part of the opening celebration. The company’s Canadian event announcement invited shoppers to follow YOYO’s wish journey and featured Naruto Shippuden merchandise and activities.
There were some unusual gifts for people who attended the October 10 opening. MINISO had Naruto blind-box refrigerator magnets and Stitch vinyl plush blind boxes available for qualifying shoppers.
The first 500 eligible registered fans could receive a $5 Canadian voucher for purchases of at least $25 Canadian. Those who checked in and showed the required voucher and same-day receipt could choose one of the mystery gifts while supplies lasted. Naruto fans had another way to get something from the opening. MINISO offered a special lenticular badge to eligible shoppers who shared their visit on social media.
More Character-Themed MINISO Stores Are Coming
The Square One store is the first of four new locations MINISO has planned for Canada during October and November. Two more SUPER MINISO stores are expected in Winnipeg and Montréal.
Toronto is getting a store called MINISO LAND instead. That format puts more attention on character merchandise, while SUPER MINISO also has areas for clothing, cosmetics and other regular products.
The Square One store is at 100 City Centre Drive in Mississauga. The mall’s store directory lists regular hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
