If Okinawa, Ibiza or a getaway to Sicily is on your travel wish list, United Airlines is making it easier to get there without a connection. The airline is adding new nonstop flights to 10 international destinations in 2027.
United announced the routes on August 25 and called it the largest international network expansion in the airline’s history. Nine of the destinations are in Europe, while Okinawa is the only one in Asia.
The new flights will begin between March 27 and June 9. Eight will leave from Newark Liberty International Airport, while the other two will depart from San Francisco and Washington Dulles.
Tickets are already available through United’s website and app. However, all 10 routes are still subject to government approval.
Eight New Destinations Will Be Available From Newark

United’s first new flight from Newark will travel to Luxembourg City beginning April 2. Daily flights to Marseille, France, will follow on June 4. The airline will also fly to Ljubljana, Slovenia, four times each week beginning May 12. Service to Olbia in Sardinia begins May 27, followed by Catania in Sicily on May 28.
Four weekly flights to Ibiza start May 31, while Valencia gets three weekly flights beginning June 2. The final Newark route will travel to Terceira in Portugal’s Azores three times each week starting June 9.
Okinawa and Toulouse Complete the List
Travelers on the West Coast can fly from San Francisco to Okinawa, Japan, three times each week beginning March 27. United plans to use a Boeing 777-200ER for the route.
Daily flights from Washington Dulles to Toulouse, France, begin April 26. United says it will be the only U.S. airline offering nonstop service from the United States to eight of the 10 new destinations.
A New United Plane Will Fly Five Routes
United’s new Airbus A321XLR will be used on the flights to Luxembourg, Toulouse, Ibiza, Valencia and Marseille. The single-aisle plane has 20 Polaris suites with lie-flat seats and privacy doors, 12 Premium Plus seats and free Starlink Wi-Fi for MileagePlus members.
The airline is also adding new routes from Los Angeles to Osaka, Washington Dulles to Milan and Denver to Paris. Those destinations are not included among the 10 new cities because United already serves them from other U.S. airports.
