According to the affidavit cited by KWTX, the firearm Reed allegedly pointed at the neighbor had been reported stolen.
Police also said Reed was not allowed to possess a firearm because of his felony status, according to the charges listed in the report.
Reed was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and theft of a firearm.
Reed Was Held on a $20,000 Bond
KWTX reported that Reed was being held in the McLennan County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
The station did not report whether Reed had entered a plea or whether an attorney was listed for him. The public report also did not say where the firearm was originally reported stolen from, when it was reported stolen, or how police allege Reed came to possess it.
The charges still have to move through court. The available account describes allegations from police and an affidavit, not a conviction.
