Ready to Travel and Explore in Style? JetBlue’s New First-Class Seats Are Finally on Sale
JetBlue has started selling tickets for its new first-class seats, with some flights going for as little as $249 one-way. The airline calls the new cabin BlueFirst, and the first passengers will get to try it on December 8.
The airline announced on October 15 that BlueFirst is now available to book on select flights across more than 30 routes. The first flight will travel from Boston to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, followed a few days later by flights between Fort Lauderdale and New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
The $249 introductory fare is for flights between LaGuardia and Fort Lauderdale, while tickets between Boston and Fort Lauderdale start at $299. JetBlue is also offering $299 one-way fares from New York’s JFK Airport to Liberia, Costa Rica, beginning in January 2027.
BlueFirst is different from the airline’s Mint business class, which has lie-flat seats on certain routes. The new seats are arranged two on each side of the aisle, with up to seven more inches of legroom than JetBlue’s regular Main cabin seats.

The seats have five inches of recline and cushions made with Tuft & Needle foam. There’s also a 13.3-inch TV for each passenger, with Bluetooth so you can use your own wireless headphones.
Passengers will be able to order food and drinks using the seatback screen. JetBlue even has something called “Mixologist Mode,” which lets you choose a spirit, mixer and flavorings for a custom cocktail.
On flights of at least 899 miles, BlueFirst passengers will get a complimentary meal with an entrée, side and dessert. The airline’s new menu includes things like savory crepes with smoked salmon, pastrami sandwiches and sesame noodles with beef or tofu.
There will be premium snacks on shorter flights, too. BlueFirst also comes with Group 1 boarding, dedicated overhead bin space and priority check-in.
JetBlue’s $249 First-Class Sale Ends October 16
The introductory fares are only available for a short time. According to JetBlue’s announcement, passengers have until Friday, October 16, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern to book the promotional prices.
The $249 LaGuardia to Fort Lauderdale fares are available for select travel dates between December 12 and February 10. There are blackout dates around Christmas, New Year’s and Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and the airline says the number of discounted seats is limited.
Other cities will get BlueFirst in the coming months. The airline’s booking page lists New York to Orlando flights beginning in January, with Boston to Denver and Tampa following in April.
There Are Three Different BlueFirst Fares
JetBlue is selling BlueFirst Base, BlueFirst, and BlueFirst Flex tickets, and the benefits aren’t exactly the same. The cheaper Base option includes one checked bag and doesn’t come with free advance seat selection. It also has fees for changing or canceling a reservation.
Regular BlueFirst tickets include two checked bags and no change or cancellation fees, although canceled tickets are generally refunded as travel credits. BlueFirst Flex adds refunds to the original payment method for eligible cancellations and free same-day flight switches.
BlueFirst isn’t replacing Mint. JetBlue plans to offer the new cabin on flights that don’t already have its lie-flat business-class seats.
