Kitten is Rescued When Found in a Goodwill Donation Bin

As many seasoned thrifters know, you can find a lot of treasures when you’re shopping at places like Goodwill and the Salvation Army. But according to one TikToker, some treasures find you. That’s what @emilypoemiller says happened to her when she was at her local Goodwill recently.

She had been shopping when she was approached by someone who informed her that there was a kitten loose in the back by the loading docks. An animal lover herself, Emily Miller had to go check out the situation and see what was going on.

Much to her delight, she discovered the sweetest kitten who was more than eager to ditch the Goodwill donation bin for a new home. The video of Miller’s discovery quickly went viral and was covered by Parade Pets, with hundreds of people jumping into the comments to talk about how the cat distribution system strikes again. 

Fortunately, a quick update after Miller brought her thrift store find home shows just how meant to be this relationship really is. It looks like “Goody” has officially settled into her new home, and Miller’s family is head over heels in love. 

Miller Says a Manager Told Her About the Situation Out Back

Those who follow Miller know that she’s a regular at Goodwill, which may be why she didn’t seem so surprised when a manager approached her to tell her they had made an unusual find in the donation bins. “We have a cat at the docks. It’s a kitten. We need to take her,” Miller told the camera as she filmed herself walking out back.

The tabby kitten immediately came running over to Miller, meowing as she circled around her feet. The video then cut to Miller after she had called her husband to tell him what was going on, saying that she couldn’t leave the store without the kitten.

Her Husband Immediately Drove Over to the Goodwill

While Miller was waiting for her husband to arrive, she told her followers how he immediately agreed to bring the kitten home, even asking what she thought she should name the newest member of their family. When Miller told him she was thinking “Goody” in honor of Goodwill, she said her husband gasped and said he just had the same thought.

It looks like Goody was just as smitten with Miller’s husband as she did with the thrifter, and she quickly ran over to him as well.

Miller Gave Some Additional Updates

The last update on Goody came after the couple left the store with her and brought the kitten home to their daughters, who were eager to play with their new pet. “She carries her around like a baby all day,” Miller said of one of her daughters in the comments. 

Additionally, Miller responded to a commenter’s concerned post about the possibility that the cat had been donated by accident. “She had been there for two days. Nobody called or came to Goodwill to get her, so finders keepers,” she wrote.

Hopefully Goody and her family continue to get along well, and no one comes forward to claim her, since this video makes it seem like she was destined to find the Millers.
