Spring is just around the corner, which means gardening season is almost here. What better way to celebrate than to attend a flower and garden festival? You can find inspiration for your outdoor space, shop for unique plants, and feast on delicious food, all while being surrounded by beautiful blooming flowers and trees. 

We rounded up some of the most enchanting spring flower and garden festivals in America, which are must-sees for gardeners or anyone who simply loves plants and wants to participate in fun activities this year.

Northwest Flower and Garden Festival

Get a jumpstart on all things gardening at the Northwest Flower and Garden Festival. This year’s festival theme is “Spring Dreamin” and will entail everything you need to help you grow beautiful blooming flowers and thriving plants. 

You can shop unique finds from vendors, find inspiration from the stunning displays, and get the 411 on any gardening topic straight from experts.

Philadelphia Flower Show

Pennsylvania not only has the famous Punxsutawney Phil groundhog, but it also has one of the largest indoor flower shows in the world. The Philadelphia Flower Show is the longest-running and largest horticultural event in America, which is why it’s a must-see for fellow gardeners. 

This year’s theme is “Gardens of Tomorrow,” which emphasizes that what you plant today “shapes the world of tomorrow.” The event will feature landscape displays, flourishing floral arrangements, and various gardening educational workshops and activities.

Tulip Time Festival

Being surrounded by millions of majestic tulips is nothing short of breathtaking. That’s what you will experience if you travel to Michigan’s famous Tulip Time Festival. Tulips grow along sidewalks, streets, and parks. Plus, they have a tulip immersion garden that features over 65,000 tulips in raised garden beds. This festival also includes parades, Dutch dances and activities, cultural events, and more.

National Cherry Blossom Festival

At this festival, you will experience the mystical site of over 3,000 cherry blossom trees bursting with beautiful pink and white petals. This celebration started in 1912 to honor the bond between America and Japan, when Tokyo Mayor Yukio Ozaki gave the trees as a gift. 

The National Cherry Blossom Festival features parades, outdoor activities, educational programs, and gorgeous porch displays.

Leesburg Flower & Garden Festival

Head to historic Leesburg, Virginia, for a weekend of flower and gardening festivities. During the festival, the streets of Leesburg are transformed and adorned with flourishing flowers and plants. It also includes a landscape display contest.

There is a rooftop beer and wine garden, tasty food, and plenty of entertainment available. Plus, there is a Garden Patch area for the kiddos, so they will not be left out.

Spring Fever in the Garden Festival

The Spring Fever in the Garden Festival is just another reason to head to sunny Florida. Hosted by Bloom & Grow Garden Society, this festival has something for everyone. The celebration takes place on Plant Street and will include over 200 vendor booths selling a huge variety of plants and flowers. 

It also includes nature-related arts and crafts, a sidewalk chalk art contest, a kid zone area, live entertainment, an appearance from the Avian Reconditioning Center Birds of Prey organization, and a booth where you can ask gardening experts questions.

American Horticultural Society Spring Garden Market

This gardening gathering is held at River Farm, the headquarters for the American Horticultural Society. This area was part of George Washington’s farmland, and at this festival, you will enjoy everything from garden-themed art to a picnic overlooking the Potomac River. 

You can shop for specialty plants, herbs, flowers, and more from the vendors, explore all the gardens, and take a stroll through the woodlands.
